Description

New Season, New Skill: Make a simple Knit Raglan Sweater! This classic raglan is worked top down, knit in the round with increases and decreases, and is a great first sweater project.

Sweater School is for intermediate level students who are comfortable with knit and purl stitches and have made a few projects already on their own. This is not a beginner class.

Before class students should buy and wind yarn, and make a gauge swatch - the instructor will work with students remotely for assistance with this part. When signing up for this class, please make sure to use a current email address.

Ages 18+

Skill Level: Intermediate

Intermediate level classes are suited for makers who have taken 2-3 Advanced Beginner classes in their craft, and/or have made several projects on their own, and are feeling independent in their skills. Some classes may include pre-class prep to be completed on your own. Knitting & Crochet students must be comfortable with basic stitches within their crafts, reading simple patterns, and troubleshooting simple mistakes.

Class Overview:

Week 1: Review gauge swatches, determine size, and begin ribbing along neckline.
Homework: Complete neckline ribbing.

Week 2: Begin yoke (students will learn increasing).
Homework: Continue working on yoke to where sleeves are separated.

Week 3: No class- We want make sure that students have plenty of time to finish the yoke portion of this project.

Week 4: Separate sleeves, begin working body.
Homework: Continue working on body. This can be completed at any time, so there's no deadline.

Week 5: Pick up first sleeve, begin working sleeve (students will learn magic loop and decreasing - students can use DPNs, if preferred).
Homework: Continue working sleeve. This can be completed at any time, so there's no deadline.

Week 6: Final class - knit together, potentially pick up second sleeve, answer any questions, and assist in any way.
