2-4 yards of fabric: Lightweight cotton lawn, Linen, Cotton Essex, Linen Brussels would be ideal for this project. You want a fabric that is lightweight, breathable and has a nice drape. Even an upcycled bed sheet would be a good option!
To determine your amount of fabric needed- use the following calculation:
(waist measurement x 3)+ 9 = total inches. To determine yardage divide by 36”. So if you have a waist measurement of 30” – (30x3) +9 = 99”/36 = 2 3/4 yards.
If you want to add a ruffle tier - add an additional ½ yard. - Matching thread color and bobbin (please come to class with your bobbin already wound)
- 1-2 yards - 1.5” waistband elastic (non-roll or knit elastic) - Please buy enough to wrap around your waist.
