Materials (not included, but all classroom materials purchased at Sew To Speak receive a 15% discount):
-
Yarn: There are two size options for this scarf - small and large. Size small requires at least 120 yards of DK weight yarn, while size large requires at least 150 yards of DK weight yarn.We recommend using 1 skein of Farmers Daughter Fibers Juicy DK (273 yards) or Pishkun (255 yards), or 1 to 2 skeins of Bread & Butter Pretzel (130 yards), depending on the size you choose to make.Students also have the option to hold their yarn double, if they'd prefer to try a mohair yarn (such as Farmer's Daughter Fibers Oh Dang! (328 yards)) with a fingering weight yarn (such as Farmer's Daughter Fibers Pear Paw Sock (437 yards)). These yarns held double will be the equivalent of a DK weight yarn, but give a soft halo effect when worked together.
-
Needles - US 4 / 24" circular needles
-
Row Counter (for this project, this is just as important as your yarn and needles)
-
1 Locking Stitch Marker (for marking the Right Side of your project)
-
Measuring tape, darning needle, scissors.
