Quilt Block Club

Build your quilting skills one block at a time in this drop-in quilt block series! Each Quilt Block Club drop-in session will explore a different classic quilt block, teaching you how to construct the block while also exploring how fabric choices, color placement, scale, and arrangement can transform the design.

Perfect for quilters of all skill levels, students will learn the construction techniques behind each block, explore different design ideas, and leave with new skills and inspiration you can use in any quilting project. Join one session or collect blocks throughout the series to create your own sampler quilt, table runner, or other project.

Please keep in mind, each class session is for a unique quilt block. If you would like to take multiple different sessions, you must sign up for each one individually.

Ages 18+

Skill Level: Intermediate Beginner

These classes are designed as “next step” classes to build basic skills. Sewing students must be comfortable threading their machines and sewing simple projects. Knitting Students must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, and purling. Crochet students must be comfortable with chaining and single and double crochet.

Supplies (Not included, but all materials purchased at Sew To Speak will receive a 15% discount):

• Fabric: 
  • This is a great class to bring a bunch of your fabric remnants and scraps to work with! Or, you can bring 3 fat quarters of quilting cotton. The instructor will also supply some scraps to incorporate if you desire.
• Notions: thread for piecing, sewing pins
  

Optional Notions: (These tools are great if you have them, but if not, the shop will have these available during class.)

• Measuring tape
• Pins
• Scissors or rotary cutter
• A fabric marker/chalk
• Seam ripper
• Sewing machine if you have one
• ¼ foot
