Minton Crochet Bag w/ Rachael

Description
- develop their crochet and pattern reading skills.
- work a granny square motif using both written and charted directions. This is a great opportunity to learn how to read a crochet chart.
- learn the crochet popcorn stitch.
- experience working with a smaller hook size and lightweight, plant based fiber.
- Week 1 - Make first motif square, adjust for gauge, if needed. Continue making squares. Homework: Continue making motif squares.
- Week 2 - Continue making motif squares in class. Homework : Finish motif squares. Before next class, block finished squares.
- Week 3 - Discuss seaming and make bag strap, and tassels. Homework: Seam squares together, finish bag strap, and tassels.
- Week 4 - Seam bag rectangle together, add top edge border, and seam strap in place. Homework: Finish bag.
Ages 18+
Skill level: Intermediate
Intermediate level classes are suited for makers who have taken 2-3 Advanced Beginner classes in their craft, and/or have made several projects on their own, and are feeling independent in their skills. Some classes may include pre-class prep to be completed on your own. Knitting & Crochet students must be comfortable with basic stitches within their crafts, reading simple patterns, and troubleshooting simple mistakes.

Purchase and wind yarn prior to class.
Supplies (materials are not included in class cost, but students will receive 15% discount on class supplies purchased at Sew to Speak):
- Yarn: We recommend, BC Garn Lino (100% linen)
- Color A: 7 Skeins
- Color B: 3 skeins
- Hook: 1.75mm, or size needed to obtain gauge (more information will be provided about gauge prior to class).
- Additional: Measuring tape, scissors, darning needle.
