Learn all the basics to create your own quilted piece in an extended one day workshop!
This workshop teaches you each step of how to quilt including piecing your fabrics, placing a batting layer between your front and back pieces, and creating and sewing your own quilt binding.
Students will create a quilted throw pillow case to show off their new skills.
Ages 18+
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Advanced Beginner classes are designed as “next step” classes to build basic skills. Sewing students must have taken Sewing 101 and/or be comfortable threading their machines and sewing simple projects.

Supplies (Not included, but all materials will be purchased during class. Students will receive a 15% discount.):

Fabric:
- Background & binding (cream): 1 ¾ yd
- Star center (light blue): 1 Fat Quarter
- Star center triangle (dark blue): 1 Fat Quarter
- Star point small triangle (dark green): 1 Fat Quarter
- Star point ends (light green): 1 Fat Quarter
- Batting: 18” x 18” square (if you have batting scraps to stitch together that works or ½ yd batting will fit this dimension and have leftover for more projects)
- 18” x 18” pillow insert

Notions: Thread for piecing, matching thread for binding, safety pins/quilting pins
Optional Notions: (These tools are great if you have them, but if not, the shop will have these available during class.)
- Measuring tape
- Pins
- Scissors or rotary cutter
- A fabric marker/chalk
- Seam gauge
- Seam ripper
- Sewing machine, if you have one.
- 1/4 foot
