Knitting School w/ Rhonda

Start your knitting journey with a deep dive! Maybe you're knit curious or at one point you learned to knit and purl, but now what? Knitting School is a great way to jumpstart your journey and/or refresh your skills.

Students will work through three projects over five weeks:

Week 1: Learn to cast on and knit with a simple cotton face cloth.
- Students will learn about yarn weight, knitting needles, gauge, holding the yarn and needles, knitted cast on, and the knit stitch.

Weeks 2 & 3:
- Students will make a cowl while learning to use a circular needle, read a pattern, knit in the round, continue using the knit stitch and learn the purl stitch.

Weeks 4 & 5:
- Students will make a Braided Cable Ear Warmer while learning provisional cast on, how to cable, keeping track of where you are in the pattern, using a life line, and three needle bind off. Cables are not as intimidating as they look!

Ages 18+

Skill Level: True Beginner

No skills needed! True Beginner classes are great for beginners with no previous experience or for those who’d like to refresh their skills.

• Purchase supplies, and wind yarn.

• Yarn: 
  • Knitted Face Cloth:  Blue Sky Organic Cotton, 1 skein
  • Malabrigo Neck Thingie: Malabrigo Rios, 1 skein (or 210 yds of worsted weight yarn).
  • Braided Cable Ear Warmer: Malabrigo Rios, 1 skein (or 210 yds of worsted weight yarn).
• Knitting needles: 
  • US 8 straight or circular
  • US 8 circular- 16 inch
• Cable needle
• Darning needle

Class Cancellation Policy

For the following multi-week school classes:

• Class cancellations made within four weeks of the class start date cannot be refunded. We will issue a class credit for a later class with this same instructor.

• Class cancellations within 48 hours of the class start date cannot be refunded, credited, or rescheduled.

If you must miss a class in a series, please contact the instructor for make-up options. The instructor may need to charge you a Private Instruction fee for make-ups. Private Instruction fees are $35-$50.
