Knitting: Oslo Hat w/ Isabel

Join us to knit the Oslo Hat, a beautifully simple hat worked in the round from the brim up. This class is perfect for knitters ready to take on their first hat project or excited to improve their skills with circular knitting and shaping.
Skills learned in this class:
- Knitting in the round on circular needles
- Constructing a unique and cozy deep fold-over brim
- Shaping the hat with neat decreases
- Finishing the hat using double-pointed needles or magic loop to create a tidy top closure.
Please note that some knitting homework will be assigned between classes.
Ages 18+
Class Level: Advanced Beginner
Advanced Beginner classes are designed as “next step” classes to build basic skills. Knitting Students must have taken Knitting 101 and/or be comfortable with casting on, knitting, and purling.

Gather supplies and wind your yarn.
- Purchase and Download The Oslo Hat Pattern from Petite Knit, available here. If you do not have a Ravelry account the team at Sew To Speak can help you purchase and print this pattern at the front counter.
Supplies (All materials purchased at Sew To Speak will receive a 15% discount):
- DK weight yarn in the amount needed for the size hat you are making, instructor will send an email before class to help in selecting the correct size.
- 3 mm (US2 ½) 40mm (16 inch) circular needles.
- 3 mm (US 2 ½) double-pointed needles or a longer circular for Magic Loop, we can discuss this in class and you can wait to buy this second needle until we have discussed.
