Kids Quilting w/ Jamie

Did a kiddo in your life recently get a new doll or furry friend? In this class we will sew a quilt from start to finish for a doll or (small) pet. Students will learn how to do quilt math, press and nesting seams, topstitching, and bind in the end.

Finished quilt size is approximately 18" x 14".

Must have taken Kids Sewing 101 or comparable private lesson(s)

Ages 8-17

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner classes are designed as “next step” classes to build basic skills. Sewing students must have taken Sewing 101 and/or be comfortable threading their machines and sewing simple projects.

Class Prep:

• Purchase supplies
• No need to pre-wash fabric, quilts get extra cute and crinkly when the fabric isn't pre-washed

Supplies (not included in the cost of this class): Please note that all materials purchased for this lesson at Sew To Speak receive a 15% discount.

• Two ¼ yards of quilting cotton fabric for front of quilt
• One ½ yard of quilting cotton fabric for back of quilt & binding
• 1 spool of coordinating thread (All Purpose)
• 2 wound bobbins in coordinating thread

• One 18" x 21" piece of batting
