Description

Beanies will never go out of style! Create this classic crochet beanie designed by your teacher, Rachael Mason. 

A great follow up to Crochet 101, students will continue their crochet education by learning half double crochet, working in back loops only, slip stitch seaming, plus a lesson in gauge and gauge swatches.

Please note: There will be some homework between weeks 1 & 2. 

Ages 18+

Class Level: Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner classes are designed as “next step” classes to build basic skills. Crochet students must have taken Crochet 101 and/or be comfortable with chaining, single and double crochet.

Class Prep:
  • Purchase and wind yarn in advance.
  • Download and print a copy of the free pattern, the Fisherman Beanie by Wool Intentions, available here. 
Supplies (not included, but students receive 15% off on all supplies purchased at Sew to Speak):
  • 2 skeins of Quince & Co Lark (preferred). Alternative yarns could be Malabrigo Rios, &Make Aran, or Blue Sky Extra, or 280 yds of any worsted/aran weight yarn. 
  • G / 4mm hook
  • Measuring tape (for gauge)
  • Scissors
  • Darning needle (for weaving in ends)
