Learn the basics of bag making while creating a fun and functional reversible Sling Bag! This class is a great introduction to the skills and techniques used in bag making.
In this class you will learn the basics of reading a bag making pattern, boxing corners, sewing in the round, and the basics of bag construction.
You’ll leave class with a new bag and the confidence to take on your next bag-making project.
Ages 18+
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Advanced Beginner classes are designed as “next step” classes to build basic skills. Sewing students must have taken Sewing 101 and/or be comfortable threading their machines and sewing simple projects.

Supplies (not included in the cost of this class): Please note that all materials purchased for this lesson at Sew To Speak receive a 15% discount.
- 3/4 yard fabric for Exterior - quilting cotton, lightweight canvas, linen
- 3/4 yd fabric for Interior - quilting cotton
- 1 spool of coordinating thread
Other tools and supplies:
- Sewing machine. If you cannot bring your own machine, Sew to Speak has classroom machines available on request. Please contact us in advance of your class to notify the staff and instructor if you will need to borrow a classroom machine.
