Jeans in a Weekend w/ Nat

Have you always dreamed of sewing the perfect pair of jeans? Want to take your sewing skills to the next level? Join Nat for a full weekend jeans-making intensive!

Over three sessions (Friday evening, Saturday & Sunday afternoons), you’ll learn essential jeans-sewing techniques and how to make fit adjustments for your unique body. By the end of the weekend, you’ll walk away with your very own pair of custom, tailor-made jeans.

Make it a sewing weekend!
Traveling in from out of town? This class is designed to be the perfect weekend getaway. Start your Saturday with a stroll through the Worthington Farmers Market (right outside the shop!), spend your afternoons sewing, and wrap up your evenings with dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants. By Sunday night, you’ll head home with both a memorable weekend and a finished pair of jeans.

Ages 18+

Skill Level: Advanced 

Advanced classes are the most advanced of our lessons, for students who are eager to master more difficult techniques with some assistance. Students in each craft will need to have previously completed several projects on their own.

Class prep:

- Print out pattern - At home or opt to print A0: We will be using the Worship Jeans from Daughter Judy Patterns (These can be made in straight or bell bottom) - The instructor will email the file to you. 
- Prewash fabric, (Wash, dry and iron) - denim shrinks a ton. Wash and dry 2x to be extra safe!

The instructor will send a pre-class email with the pattern, and more instructions on printing and prepping for class 2 weeks before class begins.

Materials details (Students will receive a 15% discount on class supplies purchased at Sew to Speak):

Supply kit: Included in class cost
- Worship Jeans Sewing pattern
- 1 Jean button
- 6”  jean zipper
- Topstitching thread 
- Denim needles (Size 16+)

Students will also need to bring the following supplies:

• 12oz denim : review size chart for your specific size and yardage required.
  Sew to Speak has denim in the correct weight! Please purchase 12oz denim only, as lighter denims will not perform as well, and canvas fabrics won't have the necessary stretch for this pattern.
• Pocket bag fabric: 1/2 yard Lightweight cotton
• Interfacing:  1/2 yard SF101 recommended
• Sewing machine
• Serger (optional, as shop sergers will be available to finish seams)
• Chalk or marking tool
• Sewing machine needles
• Pins or wonder clips
• Thread and bobbin in matching color to denim
