Description
In this class, kids (ages 9-16) will learn the fundamentals of crochet and make their own crocheted kitty!
In the first session, we will learn how to make a single crochet stitch and how to increase and decrease stitches.
In the second session, we will crochet in the round and make a plush kitty that can be used as a stuffed animal, a keychain, a pillow, or anything else you want!
Ages 9-16
Advanced Beginner
These classes are designed as “next step” classes to build basic skills. Sewing students must be comfortable threading their machines and sewing simple projects. Knitting Students must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, and purling. Crochet students must be comfortable with chaining and single and double crochet.

Class Prep:
- Please purchase materials prior to class.
Supplies (not included, but supplies purchased at Sew To Speak will receive a 15% discount):
- 54 yards/25 grams of worsted weight yarn for main color. We recommend one skien of Kelbourne Woolens Keystone.
- Size 4.00 (US G) crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Sharp Scissors
- Small bag of Poly-fil
Supplies (Included):
- Minimal amount of contrast color yarn if desired for stripes, spots, whiskers, or other details.
- Optional: safety eyes (eyes can also be sewn with a scrap of yarn in the desired eye color)
