Clothing Embellishment: Embroidery w/ Mary Lee

With just a few basic embroidery stitches, you can turn a plain shirt, jean jacket, or pair of jeans into a unique work of art. Use your own intuitive design, or learn ways to transfer a design to your clothing.

Session one: We’ll explore ideas and learn methods to transfer ideas to the clothing. We’ll practice a few basic stitches (running stitch, back stitch, chain stitch, French knots) and you’ll get started on your embellishment. (3 hours)
Session two: Share your progress, get help with problem-solving, and keep working on your masterpiece (2 hours)

Supplies (included in the cost of your class): 

• Up to 4 colors of your choosing of DMC embroidery floss
• Needles
• A sheet of Sulky adhesive/dissolving stabilizer
• An embroidery hoop
• A Frixion pen

Supplies to bring with you (not included): an article of cotton clothing such as jeans, jean jacket, or button down shirt (no knits/hoodies/t-shirts) to embellish with embroidery.
