In this class we will sew your own Bestie Bag! A crescent shaped crossbody tote that is guaranteed to be your go to bag all year long! Ready to have everyone asking you where you got your bag? Be ready to say: “Thanks I made it!”
Ages 18+
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Advanced Beginner classes are designed as “next step” classes to build basic skills. Sewing students must have taken Sewing 101 and/or be comfortable threading their machines and sewing simple projects.
Supplies (not included): (students will receive a 15% discount on all class supplies purchased at Sew to Speak)
We will be making view A (medium size). For the strap, students can either choose to use webbing and a slider or make a strap using their main fabric.

You will need to print and cut out the paper pattern pieces prior to class- shop staff can help if you need assistance with this step
- 1.5 yd - 1.5” nylon or cotton webbing (optional - omit if making fabric strap)
- 1.5” slider (optional - omit if making fabric strap)
- 1 yd Fusible Fleece interfacing
- 1 yd Main fabric
- 1 yd Lining fabric
- Matching thread
- 15” closed end zipper
You will also need to bring:
- Your machine (call the shop if you need to use one of ours during class)
- Sewing machine needles (14 or larger)
- Zipper foot for your machine
- Pins or wonder clips
Instructor Nat Della Silva (@neighborhoodpatterns) will send an email a few weeks before class with information on fabric and some helpful hints to help you prepare for the first class.
