Build your knitting skills in this class to learn and practice knitting in the round. You will create a knit beanie, casting on at the brim with circular needles, working up and changing to double pointed needles.
Ages 18+
Skill level: Advanced Beginner
Advanced Beginner classes are designed as “next step” classes to build basic skills. Knitting Students must have taken Knitting 101 and/or be comfortable with casting on, knitting, and purling.
Class Prep:
- Purchase and wind yarn prior to class.
- Download free pattern below and print or have digital access
Supplies (not included, but students receive a 15% discount on all supplies purchased at Sew to Speak):
- 180 yards of worsted weight yarn. Options include:
- Rowan - Cotton Cashmere
- Quince and Co. - Osprey
- Blue Sky - Woolstok Worsted
- Malabrigo - Rios - US 7 (4.5 mm), 16” circular needles
- US 7 double pointed needles
- Stitch markers
- The pattern, which is free on Purl Soho - Wide Rib Hat
