Description
Calling all aspiring quilters! As a follow up to Part 1, we will create our first quilt following The Simple Star Quilt pattern. A classic and beginner friendly design that will leave you with a 47.5" x 47.5" quilt. It's a perfect baby quilt size, wall decor, or accent throw. Participants must be comfortable with cutting fabric, piecing fabric, sewing with a 1/4" seam allowance. To build off of Part 1 skills, students will learn how to bind a quilt! Students must be familiar with and confident on their machine and have some sewing experience.

Supplies: Need to be purchased prior to class. 15% discount on class supplies purchased at Sew to Speak
*All yardage amounts are given for 44” wide fabric.
• Star Fabrics: (8) fat quarters or (8) 3/8 yard cuts
• Background Fabrics: (8) fat quarters or (8) 3/8 yard cuts
( Alternatively, if using one fabric for the entire background, you’ll need one yard)
• Border Fabric: 1/2 yard
• Binding Fabric: 3/8 yard
• Backing Fabric: 3-1/4 yard
• Cotton Batting: 1 package of twin size batting - at least 54” x 54” (we like Warm & Natural)
• Thread: 1 spool 50 weight Aurifil (for piecing), 1 spool 40 weight thread (for quilting)
