Description
Come join the fun and create your own felted pocket purse. This convenient little bag starts from the bottom up with a simple garter stitch and progresses upward in the round. After the knitting process is completed the felting fun begins! In the second class choose a fabric lining for your bag and attach your choice of strap or closure.
Class 1: You will cast on and knit determining the size of your bag and discuss size and allowing for shrinkage from felting. Next, we'll discuss how to transition from a simple garter stitch to attaching the bottom and knitting in the round. Samples of how to machine felt with a laundry bag will be shown and discussed. Students will need to think about choosing a strap and if they want a closure and bring the strap and closure to Class 2 along with their felted bag.
Class 2: Students will return with their completed felted bag (you'll keep the knitting and felt it in your home washing machine) and sew the lining to their bag with machine and hand-sewing techniques; including the strap and closures.
