Description

Welcome to Garment school! This session will be working with Merchant and Mills beginner patterns. The focus is on technique and construction in this four part class series while creating garments you will be proud to wear! Students will make a drawstring trouser with a false fly and real pockets. This classic pant sits at the natural waist. Next, we will move on to a classic tee shirt constructed with a woven fabric body and knit neckband, pocket, and optional roll up sleeve.

If you want to take this class but these patterns are not in your size range or style, please send an email to info@sewtospeakshoppe.com and we will do our best to accommodate you with alternatives

Ages 18+

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner classes are designed as “next step” classes to build basic skills. Sewing students must have taken Sewing 101 and/or be comfortable threading their machines and sewing simple projects.

Skills learned: basics of garment construction and fit, working with stretch fabric, creating pockets, buttonholes, a drawstring waist, hemming, and a false fly.

Supplies (not included but students will receive a 15% discount when purchased at Sew to Speak):
