Description
In this class, you will learn how to sew a long sleeve t-shirt! We will go over serger basics and learn tips for sewing with knit fabrics. You will leave class with your very own t-shirt and the skills needed to make many more on your own.
Skill Level - Confident beginner - Should be familiar and comfortable using a sewing machine. Has sewn a few basic projects. Sergers are recommended for this class, but not necessary. Shop sergers are available for use during class or you are welcome to bring your own. Please call Sew to Speak ahead of time if you need to use a shop machine.
Ages 18+
Class Prep:
-Download, print, and cut out the pattern in your selected size
-Prewash, dry, and press fabric
Materials Needed (not included in class*):
- Deer & Doe Plantain t-shirt pattern - available for free on their website (We will sew view C)
- 1.5 - 3yd knit jersey fabric. (check your size on the pattern to determine exactly how much you’ll need)
- Your sewing machine
- Your serger (optional - shop sergers will be available to use)
- Jersey/stretch needles. Sometimes called ballpoint needles
- Matching thread color and bobbin
- Pins or wonder clips
*students will receive a 15% discount on class supplies purchased at Sew to Speak
