Storytelling Through Quilts

Every quilt tells a story. Whether it's through the materials it's made out of, the design that was chosen, or the life event it celebrates, quilts are a way that people, primarily women, have told our personal and community stories for generations.

In this online class, we will explore different kinds of storytelling quilts - memory quilts, map quilts, family trees, quilts as political protest, and more. As each student designs a quilt to tell their own personal story, we'll learn the techniques they need to realize their vision, including machine and hand applique, embroidery, hand quilting, dye, and photo transfer. Although not every student will have completed their personal storytelling quilt by the end of the class, they will have all the tools they need to continue working independently.
Discount code for supplies will be given after class is purchase. Code will be sent via email. Discount is 15%.
