Sashiko is a form of Japanese functional embroidery and means "little stabs." Sashiko for beginners will teach you how to work with a sashiko needle and thread, load needle with fabric for stitching and sewing a basic running stitch with consistently spaced stitches. You will also learn some tips and tricks on transferring a sashiko pattern on fabric and creating a design. 

Skill Level: Beginner, no embroidery experience needed 

Supplies: A kit is included in the cost of the class 

Supplies that will be helpful that is not in kit:

  • Scissors 
  • 12 inch long ruler, non slip is the best
  •  Make and Mend, by Jessica Marques
