Welcome to Garment School 2, where we will build on the skills we learned in Garment School 1. This is a 6 week course taught by our very own Tina. This multi week course will explore different types of fabric, pattern reading and garment construction. You will make 2 well constructed garment pieces that you are sure to love for years.
We will make the Haremere Jacket and Curlew Dress from the Merchant and Mills Work Book. This is the same book used for Garment School 1. These patterns are offered in up to a size 18 (35in waist, 42in bust). Moderate size alterations can be made.
Prerequisite skills: Have taken Garment School 1 or sewn a minimum of 3 garments, able to make and attach bias tape, and have sewn a buttonhole. Beginning in July, we strongly encourage all Garment School students to take Sewing Skill Building 4 and Sewing Skill Building 5 as a prerequisite to Garment School 1 and 2. Both are also taught by Tina and provide a foundation of skills that once under your belt, will allow you to focus on the fitting and finishing details of your Garment School garments. If these classes happen to be sold out, we hold a couple spots for Garment School Students, so we will contact you once you sign up for Garment School to discuss your options.
