Description

In this class, open up a rainbow of possibilities for your knitting. You will learn the basics of fair isle knitting– knitting with two colors of yarn to create designs– through making a pair of Norwegian-style Selbu mittens. Advanced beginners or intermediate knitters will find success in this class.

  • Darning Needle 

  • Scissors 

  • Stitch holder (scrap of yarn works too) 

  • Double Point Needles

    • US size 3 / 3.25mm - child/teen 

    • US size 4 / 3.5mm - small 

    • US size 6 / 4mm - medium 

    • US size 7 / 4.5mm - large

Skills Required: 

  • Knit 

  • Purl 

  • Cast on 

Skills Acquired: 

  • Knitting on double points (dpns) 

  • Fair Isle Colorwork and chart reading 

  • Mitten construction (SSK, K2tog, and M1A)
