Pack up your Explorer Tote, throw it over your shoulder and have an adventure! This class, Taught by Cheryl Lind, walks you through this roomy tote from start to finish. Install a twist lock, swivel hooks and strap slider, and learn how to do that stunning contrast thread top stitching! We highly recommend using canvas weight, denim, or home dec weight fabric fro this sturdy bag! This pattern from Noodlehead offers 2 sizes, sample is the larger size without the optional zipper. 

LEVEL: Intermediate: comfortable with sewing machine, has taken Sewing 103: zipper pouch, can cut out fabric using a rotary cutter, can use an iron and press seams.

  • Exterior Main Fabric- 1 yard
  • Contrast Bottom- 1/2 yard
  • Lining- 1 3/4 yard

  • Fusible Interfacing (Pellon SF 101)- 2 1/4 yd
  • Fusible Fleece (Pellon 987F)- 3/4 yd

Hardware  (Sew to Speak carries Sallie Tomato hardware in a variety of metal finishes. The sample uses gold)

  • (2) 1" metal  D-rings for detachable straps
  • (1) 1 1/2" wide rectangle slider for detachable strap
  • (2) 1 1/2" wide metal swivel clasps for detachable strap
  • 1 small turn lock (approx 1 3/8" wide)
