Learn how to sew a fully lined zipper pouch. Zippers might look intimidating at first but once you learn the process you will be ready to tackle them on your own. Join us to make a pleated zipper pouch that is perfect for organizing all of your bits and bobs and makes a great gift for just about any occasion.
You will learn how to install a zipper using your sewing machine’s zipper foot and install pleats to create a rounded bottom.
Requirements:We suggest that you have a good knowledge of your sewing machine and you are comfortable sewing straight lines and following a seam allowance.
Final Dimensions – 9” W across the top, 10” W across the middle x 6” T
Supplies:
Exterior – 2 coordinating fat quarters (1 fat quarter for a solid pouch)
Interior – 1 fat quarter
9” zipper
3/4th yd lightweight interfacing such as SF101
1 spool of coordinating thread
Equipment (these items are available to borrow from Sew to Speak during class or you may bring your own)
Sewing machine, you may borrow one from Sew to Speak if you would prefer
Zipper foot attachment for your sewing machine
Rotary Cutter
Quilting Ruler
Pins/clips
Scissors/thread snips
